Located just off the Nairobi-Nakuru highway near the picturesque Lake Elementaita, Table Mountain offers an ideal adventure for beginner hikers. Our journey begins right at the highway, the same starting point as the Sleeping Warrior hike. We initially follow a dirt road, passing a quaint railway station before veering off into the lush woods.
Soon, the striking summit of Table Mountain comes into view, easily recognizable by its distinctive flat top. Our ascent involves a rocky scramble, leading us to the peak where we will pause for a snack break, taking in the breathtaking panoramic views of the Rift Valley.
After our break, we will descend through a narrow passage carved into the ground. The trail then leads us through thorny shrubs and past a hot spring, adding to the adventure before we eventually return to the highway. This hike promises a delightful blend of challenge and natural beauty, perfect for those looking to explore the stunning landscapes of the Rift Valley.
