MT. SATIMA VIA DRAGON TEETH (OLDOINYO LESATIMA) HIKE – ABERDARE RANGE

Also known as Oldoinyo Lesatima, Mt. Satima is the highest peak in the Aberdare Range and one of Kenya’s most dramatic alpine hikes. Located on the northern side of the Aberdares, the trail takes hikers through vast bogs, rolling moorlands, and cold high-altitude terrain characteristic of this unique ecosystem. As you ascend, the landscape transforms into an almost otherworldly setting marked by scattered volcanic rock formations, most famously the Dragon’s Teeth and Twin Rock. These jagged formations stand in sharp contrast to the open moorlands, creating one of the most photographed sections of the Aberdares.
