This full‑day adventure takes you through moorlands, ridges, and alpine terrain, connecting two of the Aberdares’ most iconic summits. Ideal for seasoned hikers and those training for Mount Kenya or Kilimanjaro.

The Table Mountain - 7 Ponds - Rurimeria Traverse is one of the most scenic hikes in the Aberdares. Starting at Mikeu Shopping Centre, the trail passes the Aberdares KWS forest gate, crosses a river, and ascends steeply to Table Mountain summit (3,791m ASL). From here, hikers traverse moorlands, rocky ridges, and boggy sections, passing the famous 7 ponds before reaching the windy summit of Rurimeria Hill (3,860m ASL) , a vantage point offering breathtaking views of the Aberdare moorland stretch. This hike is challenging, with steep ascents and long ridges, but rewards participants with unmatched scenery.
